In the main feature, we enter a landscape seemingly peeled from the ruins of a Blade Runner city—a future world filled with cold light and metal. But this time, hotpot becomes the secret weapon against an indifferent machine civilization.
In the program, we encounter chefs from various districts of the future city. They use hotpot to redefine “heat” and “human warmth”: fiery spicy broths fused with metal-coated ingredients, mist-like steam transformed into stage effects under neon lights, and inspirations ranging from “deconstructing the authenticity of artificial meat” to “how pickled fish can adapt to cybernetic bodies.”

On a fog-shrouded post-apocalyptic wasteland, we are confronted with an inescapable crisis—the zombie horde. The second episode of Liquid Health’s food program takes you into a world engulfed by infection and fear. Yet beneath this facade of despair, we discover an unexpected source of hope: jianbing guozi (a traditional Chinese savory crepe).
In the program, we follow a “hybrid” wanderer moving through the ruins, who transforms ingredients steeped in Chinese culture into a purifying force: the crisp sizzle of batter on the iron griddle seems to dispel the stench of decay; the aroma of eggs and scallions revives stiffened bodies; and a single bite of golden, crunchy jianbing is enough to briefly awaken the memories and humanity of the zombies.

The Subculture Investment Bank (SIB) is a bank dedicated to investing in pixels. The video adopts the format of highly liked vlogs on social media (inspired by a well-known Chinese vlogger, Schlieffen), taking viewers on a breathtaking journey through the spectacular architecture of the SIB. A computer-generated voice explains the philosophy and goals of this next-generation bank. For the SIB, pixels are the most reliable medium of transaction. In the digital world, other “pixel banks” also offer mainstream products for investment, but the SIB invests exclusively in pixels belonging to the margins.

LiHi is an e-commerce curation brand, but its selection logic does not aim for quality. Instead, it deliberately chooses products from China’s industrial chain that often carry traits of multifunctionality, shoddy workmanship, imitation aesthetics, low technology or excessively packaged technology, as well as a blunt and crude advertising style. In the video, LiHi organizes these characteristics into four consumer scenarios: a lottery-like experience of viewing and purchasing, a private setting filled with heterogeneous spatial experiences, a public cityscape pieced together from bizarre products, and a mode of ostentatious display within social and media spaces.

The third episode of Liquid Health’s food program takes you into a world shaped by contagion, scarcity, and fear. Yet within this atmosphere of uncertainty, a different kind of fire is rekindled: the ritual of barbecue.
In the program, we confront the crises of the pandemic—food shortages, the dangers of crowded gatherings, the panic sparked by ordinary fevers mistaken for infection, and the strain of overwhelmed healthcare systems. Each of these anxieties is transformed into an ingredient, placed upon the grill. The flames do not merely cook—they transmute crisis into nourishment. The crackle of skewers over coals becomes a rhythm of resilience; the scent of spice and smoke restores a sense of togetherness; and every bite of tender, charred meat carries the taste of survival, turning collective fear into a shared feast.
